A four-channel video installation projected onto and around an extruded tunnel of nesting school desks. The desks have been adorned with beads, silvery thread, golden chains and tangled wires. There is a model orrey spinning a shadow, while the shimmers of tiny fish scales flicker in oil, like lively stars outline the tunnel. This is a shrine or honouring of my favourite character Sha Quanmo from the Wuxia drama Journey of Little Flower. In this piece, I feature them as gifs in a cool peacock blue and then outside the tunnel launching fireballs against a background of burning sparks of
pepper being ground over an electric stove.
